About SESA Sport

SESA Sport is a small editorial desk covering Australian sport: football, Australian rules, cricket, rugby league and union, and the Olympic sports that carry the national program. We are less interested in last night's result than in the machinery behind it — how a draft works, how a salary cap is policed, how a national team is selected, what a competition's rules actually say.

What we publish

• Explainers that set out the rules of a competition in plain terms.
• Analysis of the structures behind Australian sport: pathways, funding, broadcasting, participation.
• Archive material. This domain carried Australian sports writing for two decades before we took it on. Those pages remain online, labelled as archive.

How we work

Every piece states what it rests on. Where we cannot verify a figure, we leave it out rather than round it into place. Photographs come from free sources and carry the photographer's name and licence in the caption. Paid placements are labelled sponsored and are never presented as editorial.
